Spyro PS2 Games in Order

I can see why people might hate this game, but I like change if it's done correctly and well, and that's exactly what Spyro: A New Beginning is - really good. Instead of a collect-a-thon, we have a Beat-em-up, which is a refreshing change of pace from the usual platforming formula.

One of the standout features of this game is its new breath abilities, which include Fire, Electricity, Ice, and Earth. Each of these breaths feels very useful in their own situations, and none outclass each other. There's also Convexity, which is only used against the end boss. I appreciate how some enemies resist one element while being vulnerable to another.

This game holds a special nostalgic value for me, and I will always treasure it. The voice cast is superb, with Elijah Wood and Gary Oldman delivering standout performances. David Spade, Kevin Michael Richardson, and Cree Summer also bring their characters to life. The score is perfection, and the graphics are impressive for its time.

As a huge fan of the Spyro series, I consider this game to be one of the best in the franchise. It's definitely in my top three, along with the other two Legend games (the originals being right behind). Three years after playing this game, I was still hooked on Spyro, and when I saw the trailer for A New Beginning, I couldn't wait to get my hands on it.

Fast-forwarding to Christmas Day 2006, I received a PS2 as a gift, along with - you guessed it - this game. It's definitely one of the best games in the entire Spyro franchise. The action game also introduces a new dragon upgrade system, giving players the freedom to increase the power and variety of attacks to their liking.
